Lead the marketing organization for Intel’s virtual OEM, focused on delivering PC innovation based on a user centered design approach. Organization develops complete notebooks, netbooks, tablets, and desktop personal computers whose industrial design, hardware design, and software are sold to OEMs to bring to market. Marketing team is responsible for defining future products based on unmet needs and market opportunities, testing ideas, uses, and user experience with end customers, selling those designs and negotiating with OEMs, and then driving the promotion of the innovative systems with the OEM.

Director of Notebook Product Marketing (2007-2010)
Manage product marketing organization for developing and launching Intel’s 2008 notebook platform ingredients (all HW and SW). 2007 notebook had over 230 design wins and represents several billion dollars in annual revenue. Manage a staff of seven product marketing engineers to understand market needs and competitive environment, set product requirements for engineers, develop SKU strategies, set pricing, analyze/ track ROI, establish product positioning, create marketing strategies, and win designs. Major customers include over 10 OEMs including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, and Sony.
Director of Software Product Marketing (2004-2007)
Manage software product marketing organization for notebooks. Products deployed by all OEMs. Led Intel into new consumer and business software products. Managed a staff of five product marketing engineers.
- Brought Intel’s first end user application for notebooks to market – a consumer application for streaming or syncing digital media to a notebook
- Launched graphics drivers on a regular cadence; Continuously increased market share
- Launched Intel’s first RAID product on notebooks; Highest revenue producing software
- Closed deals with ISVs (PGP, Utimaco) to adapt data encryption products for Intel
Director of Smart Phone & Enterprise Brand and Ad Strategy (2002-2004)
Brand and Advertising Strategy Manager for smart phone/PDA ingredients, and server microprocessors. Extracted the key differentiating and sustaining features and benefits from engineers, drove the development of value propositions, directed the research to test propositions, and measure brand premium, and directed advertising strategies.
- Established the first brand strategy and brand name for Intel’s cell phone /PDA ingredients and launched “Intel® Mobile Media Technology”
Director of Worldwide Consumer Channel Marketing (1998-2002)
Fundamentally changed Intel’s approach to the channel by redefining objectives and strategies to balance both marketing and sales initiatives. Re-evaluated our ‘reason for existence’ and instituted changes to build strategic relationships with only the key accounts, build Intel advocacy, and ensure measurable ROI out of marketing programs. Though Intel VPs initially considered approach radical, desired outcome was achieved.
- Developed strategies, plans and budgets for Intel’s worldwide consumer channels focusing on computer retail chains, online retailers, and ‘white box’ system builders.
- Managed a $60 million dollar budget and a staff of eight marketing professionals
- Developed and managed marketing programs, OEM relationships, messages, training and research contributing to Intel’s US retail PC market share rebound from 43% to 89%, and 20% higher Pentium® 4 processor market share than historical averages
- Negotiated and closed marketing deals with Senior Vice Presidents of retailers
- Negotiated and executed co-promotion agreement with Microsoft Corp. including advertising, promotions, demo days, training and merchandising programs
